I have decided to research the Front cover, double page spread and the contents of a magazine to find out and learn more about those elements so I could add some affects and techniques into my magazine.
Here is INDIE which isnt a music magazine, but I like the style of the cover. Its bold and eye catching and has that element of fashion and indie. Judging by this image, the target audience wouldn't be for children or for the middle aged adults. This is because the women on the front adds a bit of titillation as shes not wearing a top, her makeup is trendy and fashionable and so is the haircut, almost a futuristic look, maybe to say that the generation they are attracting is the future. The green and red makes it that more interesting to look at and looks eye catching. The title is bold and in capitals and contrasts with the colours as its white, I suppose its done this as the genre Indie does contrast with all the other genres and how people dress too as its unique, new and exciting.
I like this contents page. Its demanding, bold and has a rock edge to it. The colour scheme seems to be red, black and white. The pictures tell me that its a rock magazine as the drums are a form of rock seeing as they are played in a rock/indie band. I think that the contents page is one of the most important pages of a magazine as the pictures and words need to be important as usually when we pick up a magazine we took at the contents, its almost an advertising page for the whole magazine. And so the contents can either make or break a magazine. I like how the font and pictures of this page sets a theme of the whole magazine, I can tell its a rock magazine with a target audience of teens/young adults.
