Some magazines cater for all types of audiences and some for one particular audience. But what exactly is the audience that plays such a big role in this industry?
Well its the type of sex of a person and the age. Male, Female, ages 10 - 15 ECT.
The magazine that I will be producing will cater for both sex's, for teenagers to young adults, so about ages 15 to 20.
For example this magazine is called Rolling Stone and you can tell by the front cover that this image would draw in the males as they would find the lady on the front attractive and would want to see more of her. And it would draw in the females as they would like her music and would find her to be a role model. Also the age range would be 16 older as people younger than this age wouldnt really care about the articles in the magazine.

Another example, this magazine is called Rock Sound, and this would fall to the people who would like the genre of rock music. By the colours of the font, which is green, black and yellow, these are quite basic and dark colours and wouldn't attract the females, but the males. Also by having all males on the front, this would tell the females that it would mostly be about males and the male views.
You don't seem to be hyperlinking your links properly, Jennie, so will help you to do so. You mentioned audience research in your previous post but it is not on your blog - market research and a summary of results is very important.
ReplyDeleteTheres another page after this one, Older posts. I think its on there (the research ect)
